A Dynamic Structure Featuring Wood on Every Side

We are pleased to announce the launch of a design project for a complex at Rinko Park, a large park in the Minato Mirai area of Yokohama City, as the first initiative of the Taiju Yamashita Design and Architecture, a leading-edge design research and promotion organization.

A New Landmark in Rinko Park Overlooking Yokohama Port

With its seaside promenade and vast lawn area, Rinko Park is the largest park in the Minato Mirai area and is a popular spot for families and runners on the weekends and holidays. The Rinko Park Project is promoted by a business entity selected by a public offering of Yokohama City, which advocates "Creative City Yokohama", and DRAFT will oversee the architectural design of the newly established complex as a business owner.

In line with Taiju’s next-generation sustainable architecture approach, this complex will be characterized by its dynamic design which fully leverages the potential of wooden structures. The aim is to create a new landmark that is both environmentally friendly and promotes the utilization of wood building materials.

Vitalizing the Entire City From Here Area Management with Rinko Park as the Origin

At DRAFT, in addition to facility design, we also promote “creation” initiatives for the dissemination of experimental projects and proposals to the world. For this latest project also, we set our sights on area management aimed at enhancing the value of the Rinko area overall and will roll out various projects and proposals other than design-related on an ongoing basis in order to promote the vitality of Rinko area on the whole.
